About

Hi, I’m Diego. Nice to meet you.

Mechatronics engineer who ended up building software. I live in Mexico City and run several companies at once. Outside of that, you’ll probably find me on a tennis court or stuck on some puzzle.

The short version

I grew up in Mexico City. I studied Mechatronics Engineering at Tec de Monterrey from 2021 to 2025, and at 21 I moved to Monterrey for a year. I chose mechatronics because I liked the idea of building technology that could automate almost anything, in almost any industry.

It wasn’t always easy. There were good moments and some that weren’t, but I took away more than the technical side: solving problems, working in a team under pressure and adapting when things change. A lot of who I am today came from there.

In my last year and a half of college, a close friend got me into programming. He was founding Medvana, paid for a few courses and brought me onto the team. That was my first job.

In January 2025 I founded Mossaic with my partner, Emanuel Alvarado. We share very similar goals, push each other to get better every day and go all in on the ideas we agree on. Amyra started in March, and Kipu after that. Today I build all three, and I do it from Mexico on purpose: I believe building companies in LATAM is a different game with different rules, and I’d rather play it from here.

Today I play a lot of tennis and hit the gym often. And if someone suggests go-karting, I’m in.

I founded Mossaic with my partner, Emanuel Alvarado. We agreed on several ideas and went for them. I lead incubation there, with one rule: we don’t recommend anything we haven’t built ourselves.

How I work

Four rules I don’t negotiate.

01I operate, I don’t advise.

I don’t recommend anything I haven’t built or shipped myself.

02One pain at a time.

Before building the full platform, I validate one problem with one kind of customer.

03Finishing is part of the job.

A half-finished idea is worth the same as one that doesn’t exist.

04Honest numbers.

I share what went wrong as clearly as what went right.

Building something? Let’s talk.
